Ipswich Operatic and Dramatic Society is a registered charity and as such has helped to raise thousands of pounds for local charities during the past few years.  

We have given special support to SIDS - the charity helping to study and therefore reduce incidences of cot death and the Sam & Kate Horsfield charity - set up to help support local twins with autism.

In addition, we perform concerts throughout Suffolk (and over the border in Essex) to help communities to raise money.

Many thanks must go to our members, musicians and musical director who freely give their time to travel and support these events.

IODS First Stage youth group

First Stage is the IODS Youth Group.

Drama and musical theatre are not just outlets for budding stars of the future, it helps to provide growth in a range personal attributes.  Communication skills, ability to work with others, developing imagination and personal expression; to name but a few.

The aim of ‘First Stage’ is for young people to learn all aspects of theatre work, including an insight on how productions are put together.
